Well done to all the boys and girls taking part in the Laochra Óg Easter Hurling Camp 2014.

Laochra Óg would like to thank Naomh Abán GAA club for the use of their training field and also to the Udarás for the use of the handball alleys. The two people that deserve the most praise are Cathrach Keane and Donnacha Lucy, without their help the Easter Camp would never have happened. Cathrach organised trainers and Donnacha prepared the facilities for us.

Laochra Óg would also like to thank the coaches Cathrach, Jamie, Fionn, Damien and Luke for coming out to us and coaching our players for the last three days. I hope that ye all have enjoyed the camp and learned something from it.
On a personal note I would like to thank everyone who helped out at the camp in doing such a great job. The PRO team of Siobhan and Ian, Registrar Mary T and Michael, Assistant coaches and helpers on doing such a great job. Cost cutters Ballyvourney supplied the food to the adults with sponsorship from Cuisine De France and Denny’s.

Last March Laochra Óg Hurling Club ran a competition in the National Schools in the four parishes of Macroom, Ballyvourney, Kilnamartyra and Clondrohid. The competition was open to 5th and 6th class pupils. We asked the pupils to create a club crest for Laochra Óg. There was a huge response and the standard was very high. Unfortunately we could only have one winner and that was Elaina Lucy from Carriganima National School. Her crest is an outstanding design, created by a talented person. We are now delighted to present Elaina with a club Annual Membership Certificate by Cathrach Keane, Laochra Óg Jersey presented by Luke Meade, Laochra Óg Hurley by Damien Cahalane and Laochra Óg Sliotar with the Laochra Óg Crest on the sliotar presented by Jamie Wall.

Finally Boys and Girls thanks very much for coming to the  training camp. I liked to say ye were excellent, well behaved and a credit to all your families.
